Tasmanian Craft Fair at the Deloraine Pocket Park

With the support of the Deloraine Rotary Club, Arts Deloraine has put together a 3 day program of events and entertainments to enjoy at the Pocket Park during the Tasmanian Craft Fair.

Entertainment and events will run from 10am til 9pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

10-1pm Pop Up Gallery by Kath Wilmott

Kath Wilmott

Kath Willmott studied art formally for many years,
gaining knowledge in various mediums, including
illustration, printmaking, fibre art, installation,
sculpture, and painting. Her art reflects the
environment around her.

11-12 noon Story Time with Tassie Authors Sally Odgers and Rachael Koch

Join local authors Rachael Koch and Sally Odgers as they read beloved stories aloud! This special event brings young readers together for an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere will be fun and playful, with colouring pages, music and bubbles adding a touch of whimsy.

12-1pm Deloraine Writers Group

Deloraine writers group love to write.
It is their passion, their spare time
and their dreams put on paper for everyone to see and enjoy.
Celebrating the written word, local voices and the power of story, the Deloraine Writers Group presents readings by Kellie Beckmann-QuinRachael Koch, Vanessa Amohia Jones, and Heather Ewings, who will also share selected works by the late Moya Costello — a cherished member of the group whose words continue to inspire. Together, they honour the creative spirit and community that make Deloraine a home for writers.

1-2pm The Beat, The Brain, and The Body.

A therapeutic and educational drumming ensemble based in Deloraine, founded and led by Andi Mara. He shares his vibrant drumming culture from street to river to theatre, bringing the heartbeat of his Indonesian village to Tasmania.

Andi will have drums set up daily at the Craft Fair for everyone — especially children — to join in and feel the beat.

2-3pm Music from the mist by TB Moore

From growing up on a South Australian farm to a decade in Europe, and back again through cities by the sea and in the desert, TB Moore has finally found home on “the isle of all isles” — Queenstown, Tasmania.
He performs in 432Hz, the natural frequency of harmony and the earth itself — a sound as grounded and meditative as the landscapes that inspire him.

3-4pm Bruce McNicol

Singer-songwriter, performance poet, and composer of piano and choral music. Bruce blends lyrical storytelling with piano and accordion pieces, including works from his new release Solo Piano. A member of The Meander Men and longtime festival performer, he now calls Westbury home.

3:45-4pm Lisa Yeates

Lisa has enjoyed a long and varied performing career as a soloist and band singer, including with Deloraine’s Misters and Sisters and in the town’s Theatre Café productions of the early ’90s.

Her musical roots lie in the environmental movement, performing protest songs from campaigns such as Terania Creek, the Franklin River, and the Daintree. She’s appeared at festivals including Woodford, Adelaide Fringe, and Jackey’s Marsh. After years performing with bands in northern NSW, including the reggae group Treasure Beach and jazz combo Skylarks, Lisa is now happily back in Deloraine and thrilled to be performing at Pocket Park.

7-8pm Rusty Nail Band

Bringing their signature brand of rock and blues — originals and covers alike.
Rusty Nail Band delivers a high-energy mix of gritty rock and soulful blues, blending crowd favourites with their own powerhouse originals. Expect tight rhythms, roaring solos, and an irresistible groove that’ll get your feet movin

8-9pm Crafted by the Crowd – Pocket Park Projections

Join in a creative community experience at Deloraine’s Pocket Park!

Exploding onto the Pocket Park stage with contagious energy that’ll leave you breathless —

Fran is a multidisciplinary cabaret and performance artist, specialising in hula hoop and pure excitement. Based in nipaluna/Hobart, Tasmania (and proudly raised in Deloraine), Fran Tick brings charisma, skill, and sparkle on every stage she graces.

1-2pm Bard Behaviour

Where poems roam free, punchlines graze in the paddocks, and a good rhyme is never far from the fence line. These cheeky wordsmiths each have their own way of turning everyday life into something poetic, playful, and powerful.

Featuring Bruce Penn, Caitlin Clark, Kenn Reid, Kim Nielsen-Creeley, and led delightfully astray by Kathleen Green.

Some write under the stars, some scribble on serviettes at the local café, and a few even rhyme in their sleep. Together, they serve up bush poems, witty wordplay, and the occasional surprise verse that’ll catch you off guard. So, park yourself, keep your hat on, sip your cuppa, and feast on the word

3-4pm Shakale Mamas

For four years, Shannon, Kat, and Leanne (Sha–Ka–Le) have been lighting up stages across the Meander Valley. Local teachers Kat and Leanne, along with Mole Creek cave guide Shannon, blend their lifelong love of music into rich harmonies, heartfelt originals, and clever reimagined covers.

Together, they’re the Mamas — soulful, joyful, and impossible not to love.

4-5pm Saxxy Mummas

Deloraine’s all-female saxophone powerhouse! Soprano, alto, tenor and baritone blend in bold, soulful grooves, full of feminine energy and cool vibes. Music with heart, attitude and style—these gals turn every stage into a celebration.

5-6pm Tune Bunnies

Playing traditional Irish music on Uilleann pipes and fiddle, Heath Richardson and Louise Conroy. bring centuries-old tunes to life on centuries-old instruments.

Think lively sessions in old Irish pubs, spirited ceilis (bush dances), or toe-tapping tunes that could have graced the bottom deck of the Titanic. From weddings to wakes and everything in between!

6-7pm Jason Taylor

A true Deloraine favourite, Jason Taylor brings heart, humour, and hometown charm to every performance.

With his easy-going country-folk style and knack for connecting with the crowd, Jason gets audiences tapping their toes and singing along before they know it. His warm vocals and down-to-earth presence make him a much-loved local act who knows just how to set the tone for a great night out.

Sunday 2nd November

Join local authors Heather Ewings, Nicky Strang and Sharon Yaxley as they read beloved stories aloud! This special event brings young readers together for an unforgettable experience.

The atmosphere will be fun and playful, with colouring pages, music and bubbles adding a touch of whimsy. Kids will be immersed in local story, while also having the chance to interact with the authors and spark their own creativity. Perfect for families and children of all ages.

12-1pm Launceston Improv Theatre

Improv comedy is a form of live entertainment where performers create scenes, characters, and stories on the spot, without a script or pre-planning.

Performers take suggestions from the audience to inspire their scenes, making each show unique and unpredictable. The goal is to create comedic moments and make the audience laugh.

1-2pm Flitch

A 3-piece Celtic ensemble who have crafted beautiful arrangements with a focus on the Irish Tradition as their expression of choice. With many years of musical experience between them, Flitch banded together to bring their love and joy in this infectious genre to delight others in communal and intimate gatherings. Come and enjoy the Craic and watch creative alchemy as musician and visual artist respond in real-time.  Flitch Barry Higgins, Tim Gleeson, Elise Okell

2-3pm Rose Turtle Ertler

Musician, composer, and community arts instigator, Rose Turtle Ertler lives in Chudleigh on pallittorre country, where she runs creative events from Aunty Joy’s Studio & Garden.
Her solo shows feature carefully crafted songs on baritone ukulele and keyboard — a blend of wonky folkprecarious pop, and thoughtful political undercurrents that provoke and delight in equal measure.

3-4pm Rob Van Der Elst

Born in the Netherlands, Rob migrated to Australia as a child and was quickly “thrown in at the deep end,” expected to learn English without formal instruction — an early test of resilience that has served him well throughout life. 

Having spent most of his years in rural Tasmania, Rob brings heartfelt authenticity to his music. His guitar playing alone is worth hearing, but coupled with his own songs and the timeless folk and country rock ballads of the 1960s and ’70s, his performances are something special.

5-7pm Magic Carpet

Get ready to be transported.
Magic Carpet is a vibrant, organic acoustic ensemble weaving together the threads and frayed edges of global music. Their sound carries you through distant lands and emotional landscapes — an evocative journey across rhythm, melody, and mood.

Drum In Cheek with a Bit of Wind

Inspired by the power of the full moon, an eclectic group of locals gather in the Deloraine hinterland once a month for an unstructured jam session based around African drums and percussion.

In Unity with others, we invite you to join us in Pocket Park to create heartfelt earth-beat music. Bring your percussion instrument or use one of ours.
