Building a Bigger, Brighter WinterFire
Over the last two years, Arts Deloraine has focused on delivering the Deloraine Pocket Park. This was a conscious, strategic decision to establish a permanent piece of community infrastructure and offer our town a vibrant, inclusive space for year-round connection, live music, and street culture right in the main street.
While our focus was on bringing this community asset to life, we placed our beloved midwinter festival, WinterFire, on hold. Our original volunteer framework couldn’t keep up with the festival’s rapid growth, leading to frustration and burnout. We chose to pause, take a breath, and find a better way forward.
We have used this time behind the scenes to secure a far more robust management structure and a model for long-term operational and environmental sustainability. Arts Deloraine has been actively working towards building a bigger, better, and brighter WinterFire. We look forward to welcoming you back to the flames in the future with a festival that is deeply inclusive, financially resilient, and designed to burn brightly for generations to come.
